The first level of our communications module deals with the most basic demand of communicating with one another. As students, they have to face many different types of social interactions daily, be it in small groups, pair work or even communicating with their teachers. It is important for an individual to recognise the importance of respect and response through Interpersonal Communication.
At Acorn, we broadly divide this into the two main roles of Speaker and Listener. By unpacking each role through simple experiential activities students get to experience the importance of having both parties during communication. Also, through the use of scenarios, students get to reflect first-hand on some of the struggles that occur when one party fails to play its part. Hence, students walk away with a balanced view of both sides through this module.
