This year Acorn has had the privilege of partnering with the Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM) to host its annual Kindness Youth Dialogue.
The Kindness Youth Dialogue is one of SKM’s initiatives to connect with our youths on their perspectives on social issues.

"Are We Moulding Our Youth the Right Way"
The Graciousness Index 2015, a study of over involving over a thousand participants, meant to gather insight on the local perception of courtesy and kindness, was telling of the need for parental involvement and intentional education. More specifically, the study revealed that many parents are concerned about the impartation of values to their children, be it showing appreciation or aiding the less fortunate. Through this dialogues, students from different schools had a "talk back" session with our panelists - Mr Cesar Balota (Associate General Secretary Singapore Kindness Movement), Mr Lim Ee Tuo (Deputy Director of Early Childhood Development Agency) and Ms Carol Loi (a parent). Both parties will able to air their views and exchange opinions through this safe and moderated platform.
During the breakout sessions, the Acorn facilitators engaged the hundred odd student participants in their discussion on what influences the youths and the tension in imparting values. Lastly, participants dreamed big about the future and how we could contribute to our future!
'Be the change that you wish to see in the world.'
